AI Safety Quest's Navigation Calls Program
AI Safety Quest offers advising calls to people who are committed to reducing catastrophic risk around the development of AI. In these calls, we learn about your interests and background. We aim to understand the unique challenges you are facing. Based on that information, we direct you to the most relevant resources and communities in the ecosystem.
Choosing your navigator: All navigators are able to help anyone. If you see someone who matches your interests and you already have a lot of AI Safety context, feel free to book with them, but we recommend you primarily look at availability. It is likely better to have a call with any navigator in a week than a call with a specific navigator in a month.
Please book a call with just one navigator. All our navigators are volunteers and we have limited capacity. If you think you would benefit from speaking with multiple navigators, please email us at navigation.calls@aisafety.quest or discuss this with your navigator in the call.

Chris does part-time IT generalist work and manages the cyber security program for a small system integrator. He is one of the founding Quest volunteers and served as the director for one year. His coaching advice often touches on the things that allow us to achieve our goals: creating an action plan, sustainable motivation, mental health, and frugal lifestyles (he's a longtime member of the FIRE community). In a prior career, he was a SME on AVEVA's PI System.
Mick is freelance operations and community building in AI Safety. He previously worked as Program and Operations Manager at Catalyze Impact, an AI Safety incubator. He can best advise on entrepreneurship, fieldbuilding and operations. If you want to discuss operations careers, he recommends you read his blog post on operations before speaking with him. He has previous experience in theatre operations and software development, and has taught at ML4Good.
Ricky is a Senior Manager of Developer Advocacy at a telecommunications company called Twilio. He has been involved in AI Safety Quest since its creation in 2023. His coaching advice is typically related to determining your personal fit for AI Safety and building community and networks to achieve your goals.
